The Amazing Trips

JEN is doing all she can to help cure cancer. Jen is mother to 4 year old TRIPLETS and 19 month old Henry. She has her hands full and is adding MORE to her plate (she is obviously a saint in disguise!)

She's raising money running a MARATHON to help cure cancer in her friend's name - here is the link to her most recent post -->

As soon as I get my wallet out of the truck (I'm watching the 2 little ones right now) I'm making a donation.

My Dad, a wonderful wonderful man, passed away on Feb. 28, 2001. 6 WEEKS after being diagnosed with Stage THREE lung cancer. That is one aggressive f-ing cancer. It was (and still is) heartbreaking. His 29th wedding anniversary was Feb. 27, 2001. He was in ICU on a ventilator that day. I like to think he held on just long enough to give my mom at least one more count on her anniversary marks, even though he was on the ventilator. He was 54. He did not get to meet any of his grandchildren - not any of my three or my brother's adorable son, that is the spitting image of my dad.

My husband's FAVORITE FAVORITE uncle, and wonderful man, Rein died in 1999 from aggressive prostate cancer. He was 50. I have never met someone so eager to live a full life. So open to new things and so giving as a person.

My aunt Barbara died of breast cancer in 2002. She was 55. She also did not get to meet the children of her only child and much loved daughter. And she would love those 2 little kids, let me tell you.

In honor of them, I donate to Jen and her fight to cure cancer. Won't you join me?

Hi! I just got a call from my cousin (Jen @ amazing trips) tonight. She told me to take a look at the commentors web pages from her blog.

Thank you so much for adding this post. My father (Jen's Uncle Bill) was diagnosed w/L. C. about 4 years ago. He was given 3 months at the time. When he was diagnosed I felt desperate to find something to do. I was successful in petitioning the SC state house to sign a bill for a license tag to help support cancer research. Eventually with people like you and Jen we will definately find a cure!

I wanted to lend my support to you and thank you for blogging about this disease. Margaret
